Artificial Insemination Process and Technique
Artificial insemination is an assisted reproduction procedure that consists of introducing a sperm sample, previously prepared in the laboratory to increase its quality, into the patient’s uterus.

Fertility Studies
Ovarian monitoring and stimulation
In the natural process of a female menstrual cycle, women produce only one oocyte (egg) each month.
In Artificial Insemination we aim for the maturation of a single oocyte in a controlled manner. To do this, we administer follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) for 10-12 days.
We monitor the evolution of this process by means of periodic ultrasound checks, and sometimes blood tests. When our follicle is the right size for maturation, the hCG hormone is administered to induce the maturation and ovulation of the egg, as occurs naturally. After approximately 36 hours, insemination is scheduled.
Sperm capacitation
On the same day as the insemination, the man will provide a semen sample. The sample is analysed in our laboratory and prepared by optimising the quality and motility of the spermatozoa. Immotile, dead or poorly motile sperm are discarded.
Artificial insemination
Insemination is a process that does not require anaesthesia because it is painless. The selected sample with the best quality sperm is introduced into the uterus, injected with a special cannula. The patient rests for a few minutes and can resume her daily activities.
Embryo transfer
Approximately two weeks after the artificial insemination, a pregnancy test is performed by measuring beta-HCG in the blood. If the beta is positive, a control ultrasound scan is performed to confirm the gestational sac.
How long does the
artificial insemination last?
The Artificial Insemination treatment lasts approximately 30 days, the time may vary depending on the moment of the woman’s cycle. In addition, prior to the treatment, tests will be carried out so that the treatment is as personalised as possible. These tests are focused on achieving the couple’s dream, so the final duration may last depending on the situation of each patient.

OVARIAN REJUVENATION

WHEN WILL THE RESULTS BE SEEN?
The results after the first plasma injection may be noticeable in the first consecutive IVF cycle, but depending on the patient, a second treatment of plasma rich in growth factors may be needed.
