What is the hyperbaric chamber and what does it consist of?

The hyperbaric chamber is a steel tube design, with transparent windows, into which the patient is introduced for hyperbaric oxygen treatment.

In normal situations, the air we breathe contains 20% oxygen, the blood carries 98% of the oxygen in haemoglobin and the remaining 2% is dissolved in the plasma.

Hyperbaric medicine is based on breathing hyperbaric oxygen at a higher pressure than normal, allowing the patient to breathe 100% pure oxygen, increasing tissue oxygenation.

Prior medical consultation

Before starting the sessions, the patient should have a consultation with the specialist to assess the general health status, especially hearing conditions.

After the check-up, oxygen therapy treatment will begin. The patient will breathe pure oxygen at a higher pressure than atmospheric pressure, which favours cellular oxygenation.

Duration of the session

The duration of the hyperbaric chamber session is approximately 1 hour. We have screens so that you can enjoy a series or film during the session.

Number of sessions

The specialist will determine the number of sessions recommended. Typically, between 7 and 10 consecutive hyperbaric chamber sessions are included in the treatment.

CLOTHING

The patient must wear cotton pyjamas provided by the clinic and no accessories or jewellery.

HEARING

The patient accessing the hyperbaric chamber must not have any hearing contraindications.

NO SMOKING

If the patient is a smoker, he/she should not smoke at least 2 hours before the oxygen therapy session.

How does it feel?

You feel a change in pressure, as if you were in an aeroplane, but it does not cause any pain or discomfort.

Ovarian Rejuvenation is a specific treatment to improve the quantity of the patient’s eggs. It consists of injecting an infusion of plasma rich in growth factors, obtained from the patient’s own blood platelets, into the ovaries.

Hyperbaric medicine uses hyperbaric oxygen at a higher pressure than normal to increase the concentration of oxygen in the patient’s blood. In fertility there are studies for both men and women that show that hyperbaric oxygen benefits fertility.

Plasma rich in growth factors is also beneficial for the uterus due to its regenerative and reparative properties. It is obtained from the patient’s own blood platelets, concentrating all the factors in a small portion of plasma and then infused into the uterus.

The results after the first plasma injection may be noticeable in the first consecutive IVF cycle, but depending on the patient, a second treatment of plasma rich in growth factors may be needed.

In women undergoing hyperbaric oxygen treatment, an increase in anti-mullerian hormone, a key hormone for female fertility as it reflects a woman’s ovarian reserve, is observed.

¿Cuántos ciclos de FIV se pueden hacer?
