Embryo implantation is when the oocyte fertilized by sperm embeds endometrium layer and that is where the placenta development takes place in order to provide blood and food to the developing fetus. From this moment on, a woman starts seeing her body changes which many women perceive more than others. We have already talked about the main embryo implantation symptoms in our blog such as a light spotting, one or two days of cramps, abdominal pain similar to that appearing during the menstrual cycle, light breast swelling, morning sickness and nausea.
Eva Clinics talks about one of the symptoms which usually cause more concerns to our patients: abdominal pain.
The abdominal pain is a typical embryo implantation symptoms
Many women are worried about this symptom because they think it is caused by an imminent miscarriage but it is a totally normal and early symptom of the body that is getting ready to carry on for 9 months of pregnancy. This kind of discomforts may appear from the implantation time accompanied by a light bleeding which is also named “spotting”. The pain appears in the lower abdomen with a feeling of tenderness similar to the menstrual period symptoms. These kinds of discomforts usually do not last more than one or two days, it is recommended consulting a specialist if their duration is longer.
As pregnancy advances, it is normal feeling to have mild uterine contractions which can be seen as a “uterus training” in order to get ready at the time of contracting it for real. The muscles placed under the uterus tighten and grow to bear uterus weight and the baby once he starts growing.
As we usually say in Eva Fertility Clinics, every woman understands all symptoms differently so it is extremely important consulting a specialist for any doubts.
