EVA Clinics put at your disposal not only the best experts, but also the most complete and innovative treatments such as ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION. We will help you get pregnant with this simple and minimal-invasive technique.
WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION?
Artificial Insemination is a fertility treatment method whereby sperm is delivered directly to your uterus using a thin catheter. The sperm sample must be of satisfactory quality, previously selected and prepared in the laboratory for concentration and motility in order to improve the chances of successful fertilization of the egg and, therefore, potential pregnancy. The procedure is quite effective where sperm quality is essential for success.
WHEN IS ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION INDICATED?
Artificial insemination is recommended in the following cases:
- Alterations in sperm quality and/or sperm count: for example, patients with sperm motility alterations.
- Cervical factor infertility, which prevents the sperm from passing into the uterus.
- Female infertility: ovarian dysfunction (irregular ovulation) or infertility associated mild endometriosis (a painful inflammatory condition).
- Impotence.
YOUR TREATMENT STEP-BY-STEP
After your first consultation, our Team of Fertility Specialists will review your case in order to recommend the best course of treatment for you.
1. MONITORING OF OVULATION AND CONTROLLED OVARIAN STIMUATION
As soon as we select the best medication plan for you, we will start our journey together. Treatment typically starts with the administration of Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). We will monitor the progress of your ovarian stimulation by performing ultrasound scans to check follicular growth and determine the number and size of the follicles developing (just one follicle is needed). Then hormone is given imitating the Luteinizing Hormone surge (the LH surge is an event that occurs during the natural monthly cycle in every woman) to further mature the egg.
2. PREPARING THE SPERM
On the same day of insemination, the sperm sample will undergo a special processing procedure in our laboratory in order to select the sperm with the highest motility and separate out of immotile sperm cells, dead sperm or sperm with very poor motility.
3. INSEMINATION
The Insemination process is a straightforward process and sedation is not required. The selected sperm sample with the best quality is inserted into your uterus with a flexible tube (catheter).
